They are secured directly to the chassis just like the original amps.

The DRRI head is an interesting concept, probably one that Leo himself should have explored. Do you have a speaker enclosure in mind?

I have an '80's Marshall 4x10 ( 1960b I think) with Celestion G10L 35's ( original), an Epiphone 1 x 12 half-stack ( from a Valve Jnr) with an Eminence Cannabis Rex, plus for home use I can run it through the speaker in my Marsh 5E3 combo ( Jensen P12 etc).

If I buy the head I'll probably get a good 1x12 cab and research what speaker to fit.

Heads are good for their ease of lifting compared to many combos - except for my 80's Concert which is heavy and unbalanced.

The Deluxe Reverb (head or combo, vintage or re-issue) prefers an 8-ohm speaker load for optimum coupling -- keep that in mind as you plot your next move.

i wish Fender would offer more of their classic amps in head form. I guess most customers want the classic Fender combo, but I've always preferred the head/cab format. I know back in the 60's they offered a lot more head options, but not so much today. I'd love to have a Vibro-King head.

Just chop the top.
