I have a scratchy pot in the 2nd channel gain pot. I can get it to work once a connection is established, but if I turn it, I need to crank it left and right till it gets sound again.

This was manufactured in 05/2000 and from what I was told, the tubes have not been changed., It has been sitting for several years.

I have played it with good sound at louder volume in 100 and 25 watt mode. It is when the volume goes lower that I notice the hum issues.

I have tried it with humbuckers and with noise free strat pickups on the deluxe strat.

Thoughts? Any particular issues with this year and model?

Thanks all!

It looks like my gain pot needs replacing. I took the board out with the pots on it and cleaned them with CAIG DeOxit and then spruced them up with ProGold. The scratchy got better, but from 2-4, it needs TLC to get a good connection. From 5-10, it works like it is supposed to.

Gonna order it, R25 and also the pull volume R23 next to it. The post is a little warped. I wonder if this was dropped on the face at one time.

I have seen some posts that talk about tube positioning such as V1, V2, etc...

I only have 12 tubes and the other posts mentioned 13. Also it was mentioned from the rear of the amp which would read from right to left, but it starts the 'V' tubes in the front most position on the amp as V1-V6. Is that correct?

I have a 94 Twin but it was made in 05/2000. Need to get this beast back in shape! :)

I found 3 pots on the Fender website that are for the 94 twin. I want to order a few of them, but still can't find a parts list.

I found

25k - for reverb
100k - multipurpose??!!??
250k 30A - ????

Any help would be appreciated. I can replace them myself, but without a parts list, I am not sure which one goes where. I guess I could test out the existing pots and go from there...

Good job helping yourself out. :) A couple more posts and you'll have it fixed.

LOL - I know huh?? :)

I think the thing that will stump me is the hum and sourcing for the pots.

Also, it seems that one or more of the tubes may be microphonic. I tapped on the mix pot and I could hear the tapping through the amp with no instrument plugged in.

I did and they do not have it. I got most of what I could from them. They have no re-order date or availability date.

Almost all tubes will act as mikes, if you tap them hard enough. It's the pronounced ringing effect that you wish to avoid. The kind of ringing that gets louder and louder, on its own.
