My amp currently has a digital reverb. I can tell because it doesn't sound like an explosion when i drop it from an inch high. Does anyone know if it is possible to add this long spring reverb tank I have to the amp?

I think you'll find it less costly and less aggravating to simply purchase an outboard spring reverb tank. Used 6G15 Fender re-issues can be found for as little as $400 on the secondary market.

If that's the only way you can tell it's digital, why replace it?

You don't say which amp you have?

Might it be simpler/quicker/cheaper just to buy a new amp with a spring reverb, if that's what you really want?

Also, what is your motivation for wanting a spring reverb? If you've heard one in another amp and liked it, then you should probably get that whole amp. Just connecting a spring reverb to your current amp may not give the same sound.

(Or if you just want one because they're cool then, illogical though it is, I wouldn't argue with you - but I'd still suggest finding an overall amp that has one with the right sound rather than risking a disappointing experiment with your existing amp)

Ain't that the million dollar question.
