Does anyone know what tube(s) are responsible for the reverb. It appears I have a bad tube that drives the reverb. It started squealing during a performance and I'd like to replace one or more of the tubes. To test, I had nothing plugged into the amp, turned all volume and gain knobs down or off, and could get rid of the squeal by simply turning the reverb knob down. This leads me to believe it's a tube in the reverb circuit. If this is not the case, I'd like to know from someone in the know. Thanks

Should be one or possibly both of the two 12AT7; those are your reverb tubes.

^Totally clueless^ (7 and 8 letter words)

The reverb driver is V5 (12AT7) and the reverb recovery is V6 (12AX7).

Schematic might be useful too:

Prolly too busy checking his bong for excess resin buildup instead of consulting the amp schematic.

Welcome to the era of legalized "recreational" pot.

Actually skiptomylou there are two 12AT7 reverb drivers on a Supersonic Twin unless I have had a total resin meltdown so I could be wrong.

Super-Sonic™ Twin Combo
Tubes
Pre Amp Tubes: Groove Tubes® - (7 x 12AX7)
Power Tubes: Groove Tubes® - (4 x 6L6)
Reverb Driver: 2 x 12AT7

If you are addressing me, I was playing stadiums on national television when you were probably pooping in your pants. Go back to your playground and sandbox and continue to pretend you are a ROCK ICON.

Actually, if you want to get into semantics and if you bother to look at the schematic, there is ONE 12AT7 that acts as the reverb driver (V5A and V5B) and ONE 12AX7 that acts as the reverb receiver (V6A and V6B). Each tube is a dual triode.

Thank you sir for a most articulate clarification.

I think you'll discover that while you were being booted from The Gong Show I was busy trying to keep my arms, legs, and other physical accouterments attached to my body in a place called "Vietnam, Republic of". Alpha Hotels like you were generally not that fortunate.

A pity that with all your notoriety you didn't find the time to learn to read and comprehend the king's english which would've been a big help to preventing you from stepping on your dick when you violated the rules against selling your junk on this forum.

A good evening to you......whoever you were.

One of the 12at7 tubes is a PI Phase Invertor. So yes there are two 12at7s but only one is for reverb and the recovery is a 12ax7.

The PI 12AT7 was never mentioned in this discussion. Maybe you better go back and read what has been posted.

I did read it and I determined he reasoned or someone told him both 12at7s were for the reverb so i decided to add the info. For clarity purposes and would do so again! It does not detract from your info and I do not mean to offend!

Read the 2nd post by HIO where he incorrectly stated both 12at7s were for reverb!
