I would sure like to see Fender build a 1 x 15" extension speaker cab available in blackface trim AND blonde/oxblood trim using the Eminence Commonwealth 15" speaker that they use in the '65 Twin Reverb Custom 15. I would dearly love to own a Super Sonic 60 or 100 head, but I won't buy it until I see that cab available. I already have a 65 Twin Reverb RI in a Mojo head that I'm playing through a 1 x 12 cab with a 4 ohm 140W Eminence and it sounds great, but I still can't get that Dick Dale sound...close, but I'm picky. Heard him play through the Custom 15 and it's pure Dick Dale from the 60's! He always used the JBL 15"s in Fender cabs that are no longer made.

Well since you are already familiar with MOJO's cabinets, why not just order a 1x15 cab, source an old JBL (they are not rare) and make your dream rig? It still won't get you Dick's tone, but maybe close enough to get you where you want to go.

+1

Or just build one yourself......

Custom cabinetry is not that difficult.

Thanks, T2! And you're right. I'll never get DD's tone perfect since he's Dick Dale and I'm not…I'm just me. But I remember entering the Corona National Guard Armory where he was playing back in the early 60's and FEELING the sound waves from his Dual Showman with two JBL's pounding my chest! Then again, a couple of years ago heard him play through the new (at that time) Twin Reverb Custom 15. And I just know that the 15" Eminence will get me just that much closer. And you're right about Mojo, too. It is not out of the question.

I have been using the Super Sonic 100/Eminence Commonwealth 15" combination for several months now and would very much like to have a matching Fender cab to put the Commonwealth in but I could find nothing close. As it is I'm using a Lopo cab that I custom ordered a couple years back that was originally supposed to be a Marshall 2-12" copy but I had them build it for a single 15" instead. This was a couple years before I got the SS 100 so it actually matches the head I was using at the time. This set-up sounds amazing but I'd really rather have a Fender lookalike cab instead. I think I may just order a custom cab from Mather. Here's a pic of the current cab with the original head;
