Hey all.

Hoping someone may have an idea with my problem.

I have a Hotrod Deluxe III Tweed. Recently my valves have been going nuts and just not glowing. I would tweak them and eventually they'd light up. However, a few days ago I found that they would not glow whatsoever (the preamps are though). So I opened the back and had a look.

I removed the clips that hold the valves at the top and put the valves back in and both started working. I put the clips back in and they didn't work again. So, I put the screws back in, not the clips, the valves didn't work. So if I leave these clips off and the screws they work. GREAT! But they are free to move around and aren't very secure.

Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening. I'm confused, very!

Sounds like a power-tube socket issue to me. Cold solder joints, ribbon connector/cable problem, or fractured traces on the supplemental PCB that provides voltages and signals to and from the sockets themselves.
