You don't have a dog in this fight because it wasn't your president who was slain.

I'm willing to bet that you and I are the only ones posting in this thread who were even around when JFK was assassinated. This photo is no more humorous than a doctored photo of the Holocaust or 9/11.

I'll take that bet also. I remember the day all too well. I was 16.
Now, pardon my ignorance. I feel somewhat stupid, but I'm not following whatever the offensive reference is. Please explain it to me (even if in a pvt. msg.) Thanks.

I also transformed my BJr into a Head format, it certainly helps improved the amp's potential for me and removes the limitations of the stock cab allowing it to be more of the amp it can be. Not that you need to convert to a head to use another cab but I do much prefer it in the head format.

Snowy and my conversions are identical except for the color of the tolex.
The cab builder put very thin aluminum on the bottom inside of the cab, which is pine, to reflect heat, and the back is very well vented...the top is solid. Both can be viewed on one of Snowy's posts if you do a search.

That's what I'm doing now. It doesn't seem to get that hot but the tubes are easy to move around. I like the mod where the tubes are moved to less horizontal position.

More work this than I intended...

Check out this old (mid-1960's) Sherwood amp. The EL84 output tubes are tilted at a 45-degree angle --- for lower height. And the RF shield doubles as a "chimney" to conduct heat away from the rest of the amp. Pretty ingenious.
