Indeed.

I remember the exact moment that I heard the news, where I was, what I was doing, every detail.

It really was "the day the music died".

For you, Arjay, I'll remove it.

That amp housing looks a little odd, but it has great uniqueness :)
Does it weigh less than the original chassis?

It is pretty light. Too light really but it was just too cool a look not to do. First time I have to pull it out of there it will probably never go back.

(It also has a lot less cat urine in it. Why he hated the old amp so much is beyond me.)

Your right RV, and FYI to Bluesky, Apartheid is a laughing matter. The oversees PRESS was so mis-led on that one.

Good to know where your sentiments lie with regard to your nation's history. I love reading revisionist history from people who weren't there.

If you believe what you see in the main stream media, particularly the "talking heads", you're in for a rough ride/rude awakening.

BTW, I believe that South Africa is as close as it gets to "being there".

Apartheid ran from the early 1900s (even earlier if you want to look at when the Boers first settled South Africa) until about 1993. If Aaronk's photo is any indication f his age, I would guess he was probably born in the late 80's/early 90's. So no, I don't consider that to be "there". If anyone can be accused of listening to "talking heads" about the history of apartheid, it would be him, not me. He can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Just saying that he is actually there, closer to what happened than we are. I don't believe even half of what our controlled media tells us.

I'm not talking about today's media. In any case, there are others who will claim that today's media is completely out of control.

FYI I was born in 1977, and much alive and around during the height of Apartheid (the rest of my post was removed because I feel we are going too far off topic).

I could go on and on but this is not the forum for it.

Peace out.

So,

I took my blues jr amp out of its case and did this ...

That's plywood and the tubes are mighty close to it. I was going to use aluminum tape under them to insulate the wood and reflect the heat away from it. Any reason that wouldn't work? Should I be concerned about the transformers? I didn't leave a lot of room in that case.

And what a #$@#$ing nightmare it was screwing the reverb down after gluing the case together.

I also transformed my BJr into a Head format, it certainly helps improved the amp's potential for me and removes the limitations of the stock cab allowing it to be more of the amp it can be. Not that you need to convert to a head to use another cab but I do much prefer it in the head format.

That does look cool, and IIRC, so does yours Snowy.

If I were going to transform mine into a head, I would prefer to do it this way. More work, but allows the tubes to be upright to satisfy my CDO.

Never watched Family Guy?

I think it's cool.

I find such shitcoms to be nothing more than conduits for Hollywood to pipe the cultural pollution that they call humor into the American psyche.

It's why they call it "programming".
