So,

I took my blues jr amp out of its case and did this ...

Image

That's plywood and the tubes are mighty close to it. I was going to use aluminum tape under them to insulate the wood and reflect the heat away from it. Any reason that wouldn't work? Should I be concerned about the transformers? I didn't leave a lot of room in that case.

And what a #$@#$ing nightmare it was screwing the reverb down after gluing the case together.

I find the photograph in your signature line to be quite tasteless and not the least bit humorous.

Did you at least leave the back of the cab open for airflow?

If your tubes are getting hot enough to damage the wood, you have a real problem. The aluminum lining in amps is to provide some level of electrical shielding to reduce noise, not to insulate the wood.

It seems fine. Hard to tell if it is cooking when the wood was laser cut and has a nice charcoal smell. I might insulate it to reduce noise. Seems a wee bit noisier this way.

I also think it is quite tasteless but we'll have to agree to disagree on whether it is humorous or not.

That photo represents an extremely horrific period in our nations history. No amount of photoshopping will ever make it humorous. I was nine years old when President Kennedy was assassinated and remember it well. Using that photo in this forum is offensive and has been reported to the moderators. Welcome to my ignore list.

Considering that Oswald had nothing to do with Kennedy's death, I see no harm. The horrific period in our nations history started long before the lies about Kennedy's death. Since at least as far back as the '20s this nation has been lied to by it's leaders repeatedly.

Indeed! But I'd push that date back to at least 1898 when jingoists writing for Randolph Hearst's newspapers goaded the United States into a war with Spain.

As for the OP's "re-arranged" Blues Jr, it certainly looks roadworthy enough to weather the periodic manhandling that often occurs with nightly professional use.

It should work plenty fine for my playing to the cats, then.

It is a shame that you can't put any decent plywood through the laser cutter without it bursting into flames long before the laser bisects it.

I see no harm in the picture, if you can't make fun of something regardless of it's original content, then you have lost your freedom to think independently.

That amp housing looks a little odd, but it has great uniqueness :)
Does it weigh less than the original chassis?

I "independently think" that the photograph reflects extreme insensitivity and boorishly poor taste.

You don't have a dog in this fight because it wasn't your president who was slain.

Gee, let's all post funny apartheid photos. I'm sure there are plenty of them out there. If not, we can photoshop up a bunch.

Whether you believe Oswald shot JFK or not is irrelevant. Its still a photoshop of a brutal murder and has no place in this forum.

I'm willing to bet that you and I are the only ones posting in this thread who were even around when JFK was assassinated. This photo is no more humorous than a doctored photo of the Holocaust or 9/11.
