While the bias in the BJr is very hot, and the amp/tubes can benefit by proper biasing, it is true that most people just replace the tubes without biasing. If your amp worked well, and you replace the tubes with the exact type and grade (i.e. white 7, replace with white 7) you will likely be in good shape. If you can't get the same grade/number tubes, using a lower number would be better, bias-wise, than using a higher number. If you choose not to use GT tubes, many vendors can supply tube grades that should work well, just specify your amp type and that you want tubes that won't run too hot in your amp.

As far as the tube retainers, do not change the size of the openings. I remember that Fender added some type of rubber or silicone grommets in the holes of the retainer on the newer versions, and sometimes the grommets melted and stuck to the tubes, not really a big deal.

I was looking to order for eurotubes as it seems they can pick tubes per your needs. Figured since it's a 2008 it's probably due, especially since I have no idea how it was treated before I bought it.

The newer retainers do have rubber grommets but mine is a series ii and does not. The tubes are actually that tight against the side walls of the metal retainer.

So it's not the size of the holes, but the edges of the retainer are against the sides of the tubes? If that's the case, you can put the retainer in a vise and bend the edges out a little. What kind of tubes are you using that are that big?

I agree , we can say that for most tubes amps.

Can I say 90% of people never hear the word bias ?

Probably true. It's just that in the case of the blues junior there is no easy way to bias. If there was I know I would want to do so. But I'm a bit of a perfectionist that way. For most people if it works it works.

Many fender tubes amps are bias too cold to be sure tubes last long time ( for the waranty ? )
And to use any tubes in safe range with years on production line ( ? )

But amp sound may not be at their best .
