Hi everyone!!
I am new to this site but have 'loads' of Fender Vintage Guitars and Amps. My question is does anyone know the 'rear view' preamp tube layout (right to left)? I have a schematic but it doesn't really show the 'actual' layout of the tubes. I have no sound from the footswitch to activate the 'vibro' sound after checking the jack and switch. I have now put some Ruby 12AX7 HG+ tubes in and still no sound other than a 'popping' sound when the Reverb switch is 'on'!! Could really do with some help - please

The tube array is typically laid out from right to left as viewed from the rear, with the first bottle on the right designated as "V1" as per the tube chart.

V1 -- first two gain stages of the "normal" channel
V2 -- first two gain stages of the "vibrato" channel
V3 -- reverb driver
V4 -- reverb recovery and third gain stage of the "vibrato" channel
V5 -- tremolo oscillator
V6 -- phase inverter
V7 through V10 -- power tubes

Many thanks for this 'Retroverbial'!!!!

You would have thought that the tube array layout would have been printed in the Owners Manual :-)

The footswitch works and stereo jack that plugs into the rear chassis. I have test these 2 areas. I have also replaced the V!, V2, V5 and V6 tubes with Ruby 12AX7HG+ - perhaps I need to replace V3 and V4 as well?

Getting a 'popping' (grounding) noise when switching 'Vib' whilst 'Rev' on but this disappears when I turn 'Rev' off??

Once again thanks for you help - keep in touch?

You'll find some additional information here......

Unfortunately, no schematic is provided.
