I just bought a Fender Pro Jr III new from GC. Got it home and discovered in a quieter environment that with power on and volume off it's got quite the hum:

125 hz most prominent freq
Peak (dBFS) -34 avg
RMS (dBFS) -42 avg

Is this normal for these with/without instrument plugged in and tone and volume off?

I've got 3 wks left to trade it back in. Should I?

thanks
Larry

I don't know what you are measuring, but "dBFS" is used to measure noise in digital systems.

I was using the RTA Analyzer app which uses that scale.

The Strat-Talk forum had two suggestions including power tubes or a cold solder joint issues.

I may take it back and compare it to the Blues Jr again. When I played they side by side in the store the PJ sounded better but it was quite noisy in the store!
