Yeah, the school systems never seemed to have the money (still don't) to perform proper PMs and keep the film path in full alignment. The photoelectric receiver was always going out of alignment and we in the A/V crew always got blamed for poor audio, although we were not allowed to realign them, just change lamps. So we used all the old stuff for the classrooms and held back the newest projector(s) for the auditorium. Then, since there was no "line out" on the newer projectors, we had to hook up some Rube Goldberg impedance matching to feed the audio from the projector into the old Bogen PA amp through the old wiring from the "booth" to the backstage area. Ahhhh, the memories that brings back.

It WAS disappointing! Like something from the 40's that had been played for a LOT of classes. Quentin Tarantino could have done a much better job!! :lol:
