Just got one...and I am a new player. Is there any difference between the two input jacks on the amp? I get the normal vs. vibrato but within each of those sections, any difference or just convenience to have two guitars plugged in.

Input 1 on both has 6db more gain than input 2.

Hi sfscott,

Input 2 on each channel is attenuated, so using these inputs will give you less volume/gain as compared to input 1. A guitar equipped with higher gain pups, such as hum-buckers, might sound better plugged into input 2.

This is all explained in the owner's manual (page 6 to be exact), which you should have read before plugging anything in.

I know. Its so much easier and time efficient to log on to a computer, post a question in an appropriate forum, then sit back and wait till someone bothers to answer. Maybe Fender (and other manufacturers) should just post a link to Google or something instead of printing owners manuals. Then people can just search the Internet for information on how to start their car, plug their guitar into an amp, etc.

Only with people that waste everyone else's time.

Did you finally get around to plugging in that Masterbuilt Tele you claim you purchased in December 2012? Pretty pricy guitar for a new player.

Be that as it may, those neophytes too lazy to read who post such effluvia still end up looking like a dork.

I support Bill(y) Jack in setting the tone for respectful engagement. There is some due diligence on the part of amp owners. If it is in the owners manual, answering it here is just enabling poor behavior.

The manuals can be read on a iphone, where the many people live.

+1

Agreed. If it came with a manual, and most new amps do, look for the answer there. If you don't see the answer, then try google or a forum.

On the other hand, Fender and other manufactures produce some very, very generic "guitar" owners manuals that leave Everything to the imagination.

My new car manual came on a DVD. Fortunately the salesman showed me how to start it.

Actually he did have to show me how to unlock the rear doors. I found the unlock button on the drivers door, but it only opened the drivers door, and the button had to be "double-clicked" to unlock the other doors. :|
