Hi

Sorry for my english.

I have a very simple question...

I want (I must) to record the guitar in my home (from PREAMP OUT to MIXER), that sound very good with my guitars and pedalboard, but hot rod is very loud!
After the disconnection of speakers of course amp is overheated.

So...how can I muted speakers?? It is possible?? Some ways?

It is important for me. Will somebody help?

You need a Speaker Attenuator .

It is a good tool, good invest , all amp are too lound for home . I have the Weber Mass 50 , is good for any speaker impedance .

Kinda depends upon how big your home is.

But I don't want to have quietly my fender :) I want total silence, zero...total mute.
I hear really good guitar sound on studio monitors from hot rod preamp and many effects in pedalboard.

It is needed only for recording guitars to electronic project.

I am playing live (rehearsals, concerts) apart from that and it is other subject, there I don't need to kill decibels.

I want only total silence from speakers in my home studio.

Ech...I see it will be difficult.

I understand you don't need your speaker for recording . Just use the Preamp Out .

Don't forget a tube amp need a speaker load all the time if you don't want to damages tubes or transformer.

You can try pillows on the baffle but heat from the amp must evacuate.
You can also unplug speaker and plug high power load resistor to amp output .

You can also use a speaker with a broken cone as a load . Any speaker with no cone but with is coil in working order ( to keep a load and impedance ) will do the job with no sound .

Some car radio shop have powerfull broken speaker they throw away .

Remove the phase inverter tube (V3, closest tube to the power tubes). No signal to power tubes = no sound from speakers. Problem solved.

Hmm...it is good idea with V3.
Now I remember that one or two year ago my V3 was damaged and it was exactly this result (silence from speakers and signal from preamp out).

I will do this way.

But last question...will it be safe (I think about remove V3 tube of course) if amp will be turned on by a few hours?

Yes.
