Hey

A few days ago I found a used Fender roc pro 1000 for a nice price. There is only one thing that I'm not shure of. On the pictures I see that there is a Foster prevox WF30 speaker is which is not the original one I think. I don't know anything about speakers. Are these speakers of the same quality as the original fender speakers? Should I buy it with that speaker in it?

grtz

I once owned a RocPro 1000 combo.
The stock speaker was quite flabby and desperately needed replacing.
I cured it with a Celestion Seventy 80.
Relatively inexpensive and much more control over the lows.
I don't know much about Foster speakers though.
Didn't they make Hi-Fi speakers or something?
Even if it had the stock speaker you'd have to replace it anyway.
That amp will not likely build much for collector value with time so I wouldn't sweat
the speaker not being stock if that is of any concern to you.
IIRC, the stock speakers were an Eminence design.

The archived manual states the original had a 8Ω, 12” Fender Special Design (P/N 040598) on page 5.
http://support.fender.com/manuals/guitar_amplifiers/Roc_Pro_1000_manual.pdf

These, and the Roc Pro 700, were basically "improved" Performer 650/1000 hybrid amps of the mid 90's. Still, they weren't on the market for long. My Performer 650 is still hanging in there after 20 years (with the stock speaker) but hasn't had a lot of play in recent years. (Still looks really cool after the addition of tilt-back legs!) 8) I never really liked the "drive" channel but if you are into 80's Rock, you might like it.

I already bought a hot rod deville for a really cheap price, only €300. Unfortunately one of the speakers was blown and some of the inner parts have been burned and badly retouched. I brought it to a tech and it will cost €200, but the good news is that the person from who I bought it will pay half of the bill :D so €400 is still cheap!

Four hundred quid is $668 USD......I'd hardly term that a "bargain".
