Hello,

I have a 230V version of Fender Stage 112 SE amp, not the best amp ever but I like it.

But it doesn't sound as good as it used to, and it makes strange sounds when I turn the reverb on.

So I decided to replace the speaker and the reverb tank.
I found some 12" 8 ohms speakers but I don't know how much watts should the speaker be for this amp.

Also I found some reverb tanks but they have some input and output impedance values which I have no idea of.

Can you help me choose a nice speaker and reverb tank for this amp?
Full specs of the amp as in the manual are below.

Thank you.

Code:

The Fender "special design" speaker will work but later versions of this amp (specifically the Stage 100 DSP) were equipped with the 8-ohm Celestion G12-100T, rated for 100 watts.

Reverb tanks are designed for specific applications based on input and output impedance, and the grounding method. Find your tank's P/N and order the exact replacement.

So basically I need a 100 watts speaker and any spring reverb replacement won't work.
I have no idea what the part nr. of this one is :/

Thank you for your reply, have a nice day.

That's weird, the amp specs say 160 watts. I'd email Eminence if I were you. I like their Patriot series. You have a lot more choices if you can get a speaker in the 125-150 watt range, but it might not be recommended. Their email address is on this page. The other reason is that they probably made the stock speaker, and you can find out more about it.

The amp specs say "160 WATTS AT 4 OHMS".

The amp is equipped with a single 8-ohm speaker.

The additional 60 watts at the reduced impedance is intended to give the amp sufficient reserve power to drive a second 8-ohm load via the rear-panel extension speaker jack.

Cool.

I googled around and found a TGP forum thread.

relevant part:
026488 was a custom designed OEM speaker that we manufactured to Fender's specifications. It is an 8 ohm speaker with a 2" voice coil and a 59 oz ceramic magnet. We do not rate OEM designs (that is left up to the customer to test and rate their cabinet or amp), but a conservative thermal power rating based on the voice coil diameter would be about 100 watts.

Found Celestion Hot 100, 8 Ohm (G 12 T-100) speaker and Accutronics 8EB2C1B reverb tank.
Ordering them in a moment.
I hope they'll fix the amp.

Thank you so much for your help.

Use caution when swapping the speaker out. It may be prudent to remove the chassis and lay the cabinet flat on its face as an aid to positioning the speaker. Screws should be snugged down to 25 in/lbs of torque, about ¼ turn beyond finger-tight.
