I have wanted to try out these speakers for awhile. I have checked the specs, read the manufacturer sound descriptions, read reviews, listened to sound samples, and finally took the plunge. Does anyone else have either, and care to comment about the sound or preference. More details to follow, but here is a hint about what I decided.

hmm I don't know. I like the RWB I have; sounds good in the Princeton 112 Plus. I imagine the Texas Heat would retain a bit more of the original speaker's extended highs though.

That is my impression. The RWB sounds good, well balanced, while the TH is richer/fuller, with a bit more lows and highs.

Yes! :D

So far, I've tried a MB TA-15, a Blackstar HT Studio 20, a HRDlx, and I have a few more amps to try, enjoying everything so far. I have used an Am Dlx HSS Strat, an Am Std Strat, a Blacktop HH Strat, and a Les Paul HH. Everything sounds wonderful, from clean to mild breakup to all out distortion. Drop-D, using the B* with heavy distortion, the Les Paul and all four speakers, was incredible! I would have a hard time choosing only one of the two types of speakers, and really glad that I got both because each set sounds great in its own way, and they sound excellent together.

I have two of each speaker, wired up in a 4x12 cab (x-pattern), with a single, three-position switch, allowing me to switch between; 2x12 TH (16 ohms), 2x12 RWB (16 ohms), or 4x12 both sets together (8 ohms). 8)

Nice! Gotta love Eminence's description of the TH though, "All-American... Texas style... hint of British flavor". They go out of their way to say that the Texas heat is very touch sensitive. Is it more so than the RWB?

That's a tough call, as it seems that the amp and settings have more to do with the touch sensitivity than the speakers. I get the most touch sensitive sounds from the RWB on the B* amp with lot's of gain. However, when using clean settings on the MB amp, I get very good clarity and definition from the TH, and they seem very touch sensitive this way. The TH definitely have more "Top End Bite And Clarity".

Yeah, the sound descriptions are pretty good, maybe based on using clean amp settings, and my perception of each speaker's sound changed depending on the amp that was used. Right now, I am enjoying the RWB, Am Dlx Strat, and the B* using high gain, just a really sweet sound. I was using the Blacktop Strat, but broke the B string. :(

I still can't pick just one of theses types, even after trying with a few more amps. I can only add that the TH are ballsy with great clarity and bite, while the RWB are so smooth and balanced, good clarity and a little reminiscent of V30s, only the V30s have a just a bit more highs than the RWB. I get lots of "beef" with the TH, and it's easier to get the "squeal" from the RWB when pinching the pick.

So far, this is my favorite setup with these speakers, either pair, or both, sound great with the B*, heavy distortion, using hum-buckers.
