I have both the new '65 and '68 Deluxe Reverbs and I love both of them (now that I have a '68 that works); both look like they came out of a time machine - but both come with a nice shiny silver footswitch. I hung around an awful lot of blackface and early silverface Fenders during the '60's, and every one of them had a black single or double footswitch. I never saw a silver one until Fender first came out with re-issue amps. When in the past did Fender use silver footswitches? And, the blue pilot light on the '68 is very cool, but didn't all the original silverfaces have red lights?

Footswitches with the plated housing first appeared in the early '70s.

Red has always been Fender's traditional pilot-lamp color.
