Just ordered a new 68 CVR. :D

I do like my 68 CDR's tones, and the weight and size are great.
But given that I got 3 of these amps and each one has issues, I decided to give the
CVR a try.
Fender lists the weight of the CVR as being pretty much the same as the CDR/DRRI so that's a big bonus cause I didn't want something too heavy and big.

My new CVR should be here in a few days and I'm looking forward to trying it out.
BTW, Guitar Center was awesome about helping me with the problems I've had with the CDR's, so they gave me a price match AND the same discount as I got on the
68CDR. My delivered price is amazing, I don't say "amazing" lightly. :)

Awesome! Can't wait to see what you think of it!

Did you try one out first, or are you taking a bit of a punt? I would hope that the delay in getting this one into production was them sorting the QC issues they've had with the rest of the range...

Never played it. Hail Mary on this one! :)
I too hope they sorted whatever was wrong.

I did hear some vid's of it and it sounded great.
It'll be nice to hear what the 6L6's do in this amp.
I'm partial to their tone and the Twin uses them.
Plus I have a quad, only need a pair, of sweet SED Winged C's to try in it too.
It only cost me the same as the 68 CDR, which I also got a 20% discount on, gotta LOVE that. :)

SO THEN..... since this thing has FINALLY become reality, what we need is a CVR vs 68CVR side-by-side comparison...... overall tone, headroom, etc....

Yes, just as was done w/ the 65 DRRI and 68 CDR. I'm betting one will surface on YouTube soon, perhaps by in-the-blues, as he is inclined to do such comparisons.

Got word my CVR has been delivered. :)
Can't wait to get home and fire it up!

BTW, my local GC just got in 3 65 TRRI's.
I played one last night and it sounded very very thin with a big lack of any harmonic singing to it.
Even tried cranking the mid and bass to 10 and still sounded thin.

The verb sounded really nice and lush, much better compared to my
68 CDR. But over all my CDR sounds 10X better than that Twin.
Damn shame that Fender can't put out consistent quality.
The last TRRI they had a couple of months ago sounded fantastic.

Rverb, how is it? Post pics as soon as you can.

I'll post on mine tomorrow when it arrives.

Got mine today and all I can say is kudos to Fender, they really did their homework on this one.

She's everything I was hoping for and more, thanks to everyone at Fender for doing such a great job, I couldn't be happier.

If there's anyone else thinking about getting one of these, do it, you will not be disappointed.

Rock on, RGM.
