I just found one of these new 68 CVR's on ebay for sale.
Seller says it's brand new and has a $1200 price, which is what a Custom Vibrolux sells for.

Also, why doesn't the Fender site show the Custom Vibrolux?
Is it no longer in production?
They are easy to find brand new, are they just old stock now?

Amazon, Sam Ash, and Musician's Friend are taking preorders.

MF says shipping around 9/12/14 and Amazon says 2-5 months. Either way, we'll probably be seeing them this fall.

Gotta hand it to Fender, masters of the soft rollout.

My local music store had 2 of these, now they have one, because I purchased one of them. Call Hugo Helmer Music in Burlington Washington in a hurry and you might get the other amp. 360-757-0270. I love mine, it sounds great right out of the box with no reverb issues.

Awesome!

Can you share your impressions about the amps tones?
How does it compare tonally to other Fenders like a Twin or Dlx reverb?
How is the reverb compared to other Fenders?
Is it quiet, hiss, hum...etc..?

Wow! It looks like Fender knocked it out of the ball park with this one.

BTW Fender uploaded a demo video on YouTube and Musician's Friend says they have them In Stock.

Interested.

Yep, they're starting to show in stock in various music stores and several YouTube demos are now available.

All this delay caused me to loose interest, or should I say shift interest. I'm fighting the urge for an Allen Brown Sugar head with 6L6's. The demo gives a range of amazing tones:

Is this one made in the US?

I have no problems with Mexican made Fenders, but, after 3 in a row new
68 customs dlx's with problems, I'm leery about what's up at that factory.

I really want this amp for only $200 more, and it has 6L6 power, which I prefer, along with a bit more clean volume and headroom.

Problem is I got a smoking great deal on the new 68 CDR and I mean a good bit less than a used one.
So, I'm thinking I may just get the scratchy pots fixed under warranty and call it good.

FWIW I have run into just as many problems with USA made Fender amps...

Yeah, that's a good point.
Not good, but good point. :)

The whole Custom Silverface line-up is most impressive to me. I really like what I hear with regards to the improvements they have made with these amps for an updated version.

Honesty, I'm not in the camp for 'early breakup'..that is what pedals are for in the real world of gigging out. You not only need volume, but you need to blend with the other players onstage..therefore, you can't rely on a specific 'sweet spot' for breakup if that means going up an above everyone else on the stage 8)

I would probably have to go with a higher wattage speaker to avoid early breakup in a few of those amp choices..especially the Deluxe and the new Vibrolux. However, I am very content with what I now have and could not justify getting any thing else other than out of foolish greed  It is nice to see all the great amp choices that are available to everyone :D
