I LOVE the 5F6A Bassman clone that I built myself. It's more authentic than Fender's current offering.

I'm thinking seriously about getting a new Fender '59 Bassman LTD in the next four or five weeks.

Very nice. Looks really good. Nice touch with the custom badges.

I had two Victoria Bassmans and miss them alot. Seeing your amp just makes me want a bassman again.

I have a question that may sound dumb. My amps had only one input plug, only using one of the two inputs the speakers that were wired for 2 ohms.

You use both inputs, are yours just wired different but still 2 ohms?

Again nice job on the amp. 8)

Took me a minute to understand what you were asking.

The Victoria Bassman clone uses a single phone plug for the speaker output with all four speakers wired in parallel for a total of 2 ohms.

My amp uses four phono plugs (as per the vintage design) with each speaker connected to one phono plug and all four phono jacks wired in parallel for a total of 2 ohms.

I love mine I played out with it on Saturday and it sounded fantastic. Mine is a 1990 model which I believe is alittle different than the newer ones. It's a desert island amp for sure.

I have had 2 . A older RI from 96 that I restored and a newer reissue with the laquered tweed and jensens. I liked the older version better . I gigged with it alot and it was a great amp. The newer one to me was a tad bright sounding to my ears. I dont need that kind of volume anymore , so I sold it.

Wow, not only volume, but you got some clean volume there. I had one of those silverface twins with the JBLs and you could turn it up and it stays clean.

I dont remember, does yours have the grey or orange back version of JBLs?

The silverface '78 is equipped with OEM orange-basket D120F's. The blackface re-issue has a pair of K120's in it.

You got one awesome set up there.

I was just watching Leno. He had Chris Isaak on. His band all had some serious Fenders going on.

It looked like the bass player was using some type of piggy-back set up. I did not catch the name but it looked like it said showman. Did Fender have a blackface showman? I did not think they were bassmans. I could be wrong
