I have a mid 90's HRD 410.
I just put JJ 6L6's in it, and find it very nice, but a bit harsh.
No compression, really.
Just ordered a set of 6V6's just to see what the difference will be.
Anybody try this?

Also, what is a good boost/overdrive pedal for this amp if I want a nice fat Hendix tone?
(Don't say "get a plexi" lol)

I have heard good things about the Xotic BB plus.
Anyone using this combo?

Lots of people have tried it, some like it and some don't. Be sure to use 6V6 that can handle the high Plate voltage of your amp, that limits the choices to JJ 6V6, GT 6V6 S, and maybe EH 6V6.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

+1

Check those plate voltages once installed and re-bias of course.

Even though Eurotubes sells a JJ 6V6S tube kit for Hot Rod Devilles, I would be reluctant to try it. The problem is not the plate voltage, but the screen voltage. The Hot Rod Deville has a B+ of about 485 VDC and a screen supply of about 483 VDC.

While the JJ 6V6S is rated for 500 VDC plate voltage, it is only rated at 450 VDC on the screens.

Might be a good idea to change the screen resistors to 1k or 1.5K ohm versus the factory 470 ohm screens.
