Well, he was on some potent antibiotics for his chronic sinus infection. :(

Just going by what the schematics state, and they seem to be consistent about the names of the pots. I didn't name them, or choose the amps in which they were used.

Perhaps not.

But be that as it may, it's on the amp......

My '94 DRRI also has this switch. And it's just as much a dummy as the one in the TRRI.

I do not have the owner's manual for the DRRI but I quoted verbatim from the manual included with my TRRI.

I don't have a gut shot of my TRRI handy but this chassis photo of my DRRI clearly shows the ground switch and the fact that it was never wired......

Looks like we've got more mysteries to ponder.

The ground switch appears to have been removed in the current version TRRI (photo from Sweetwater website). I quoted and linked to the owner's manual that appears on this website. There is no mention or picture of a ground switch in the current manual. Not sure why we are arguing about this.

Page 5 calls the pot in question a "hum balance" pot: http://support.fender.com/manuals/guita ... manual.pdf

Page 4 refers to R69 as a "hum balance" pot: http://www.webphix.com/schematic%20heav ... manual.pdf[/quote]

What the heck difference does it make? We know what Fender is talking about and what the pot supposedly does (If it exists. I don't own a current TRRI so I have no clue).

No argument, Bill.

I'm just trying to clarify an issue that apparently still isn't very clear.

+1

And there are two different pots with two different functions and two different names.

There are TWO pots on the TRRI. One for idle bias (same place as usual, by choke). And another by the PT. This is the heater line hum pot.

Thanks for the pics BMW2002Ti. I wrongly thought that the hum adjust on the heater circuit was not accessible from the outside. Learn something new everyday. :)

Mystery solved. The OP appears to have lost interest. Hopefully he returned the amp under warranty if he doesn't know how to adjust the various pots.
