So the common denominator we all know is the "intermittent" "on its own" channel switching prob. By the way clean channel functions flawlessly.

How bout this one:

A) The channel switches fine
B) The more gain button also turns the yellow LED to red

The issue is there is no output just some slight fizz.

Changed v1 & v2 with no results.

I know that R78 /79 are prone to fail or become unsoldered created noises, intermittent erratic channel changes, squealing etc. This is not the case......

Anyone have this issue before???

The resistors solder joint problem does not cause squealing or noise or any other problem other that not properly switching channels, and/or reverb not working. The lights might work, but the channels still might not be switching. Instead of wondering what or why, check the solder joints. If the joints are good, you might have an op-amp or relay issue.

You call this a nightmare?

Solder joints - Checked these and they are fine, and since you mention yah, the Reverb is also non op

Double-check those solder joints, also check closely for broken circuit trace, and all those near the resistors, particularly the joints/traces for the Zener diodes. If the reverb is not working, and the channels aren't switching correctly, you are almost certainly are missing part of the +/- 16 volt supply. You can check these supplies at pins 4 and 8 of each op-amp, referenced to ground. Be sure that the green ground wire is reconnected after pulling the main board, and you have to pull the board to check the solder joints.

Shimmlou was right again.....Solder joints on V2, unfortunately the PO had tried to reflow (i dont know why i didnt see it clearly first time around) and in doing so he pulled the pad, so I had to run jumper wires.

Based on the type of solder job that was done at the factory, it looks that they were having a bad day. V2 doest get that hot. Looks like they were short on solder that day, just really small amounts of solder were applied and with the stinky tube tensioner on there all it did was pull the socket ends out of their holes..

Thanks!!
