Hi Everyone. :D

Ok so I have a new SS twin 2-12 100 watt. WOW.. The sound of this amp is tremendous.
I traded my Marshall jcm 900 after all these years and bought this beast. I think its the greatest sounding amp in my opinion.

Butttttt. I'm having a problem. This baby shuts off on stage. I narrowed it down to the damping knob. when it shuts down, it stays powered up and I can faintly here me playing but its really light. If I TAP, the DAMPING KNOB, it comes back to life. (sorry, was'nt yelling just emphasizing). I contacted FMIC, I have to send it out, they will pay the shipping and my amp stays at some repair shop until they get around to fixing it. Anyone experiencing anything like this?.. Sorry FMIC, I bought this amp because I need it 7 days a week. I cant imagine this amp getting shipped with 13 tubes in it and coming back to me fixed and undamaged. BTW, Ive had the amp 7 months.

Sounds like the continuing saga of poor solder point(s). Or perhaps a bad switch. This is one complicated amp. So, I think you are better off dealing with the Fender warranty on this issue. Maybe, they will replace the amp with a working model (without issues)? To avoid downtime.

Yep, I agree.. Its heat related. I blew this amp the other night while rehearsing. The back panel of the amp was very hot. Thankfully Guitar Center is getting me a new, factory sealed, unit. This will be my third SS Twin . Oh man..... what happened to Fender Quality.. I'm lost for words.

Thanks for your response.

Sincerely

John
