Ok i obviously know what a bass head is i am not that stupid but power ratings i am very stupid in. If i got a 400 watt cab and then a 200 watt head would that mean that the thing would only go up to 200 watts or what? I really need some help because i am buying my first half stack. Thanks a lot

If you got a 400 watt cab and you got a 200 watt head it just means that you will be able to push the head's volume a lot more then if you had something like a 400 watt head and 200 watt cab. as far as I know it won't break up at the highest volume considering the cab wattage is double the total wattage of the head. I'm assuming that the head and cab are 200/400 watt RMS which means that it theoretically won't be as loud as 400 watt/200 watts. It'll be somewhere in the vicinity though. All the Fender bass heads are extremely powerful and have a really rich and nice tone to them. The cabs Fender make shouldn't have any problems backing up the heads that are matched to them.
