Hi, My Fender Frontman 212R (old version with no effects loop) has an issue where sometimes the volume goes lower than it actually is and sometimes crackles and pops when I hit the guitar hard on the clean channel, and I have to hit it sometimes to get it to work properly, My mate bought it used for me as a Christmas present and the distortion works fine for my needs and the clean is nice as well. and sometimes it does these issues, so what should I do with it? it is a nice sounding amp the original owner said he upgraded the speakers in it, and nothing is better than old speakers :) so can someone give me some advice? Thanks

Nate

It is a solid state amps , no service by user .

The only and most easy thing I see is a broken solder or printed circuit in power supply where are the filter caps and rectifier diodes.

If you know how to solder, you can open the amp and look at the circuit if you can see something wrong with solder or broken circuit or burn . Printed circuit must be on the right side to see copper printed circuit. Not sure it is .
