Your sure have issues with people having opinions other than yours. You should get over that and thinking you've played more gigs than these old men who are giving there well respected opinion here kinda proves you don't have any idea what your talking about.

Can't speak for others, but between 1967 and this very day, I've logged in excess of 2400 professional gigs and recording sessions.

"Professional"......that means people paid me money to play.

So tell us, Mr Wizard......

HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU NOT PLAY FOR PEANUTS?

You made an unsubstantiated insinuation and I insist upon a response.

Play cutesy and tap-dance or man up.

We're pretty far off the rails now.

But 50 paid gigs a year for 47 years is a pretty good run. What was the most in a single year?

So we are off the amp topic and on to whos bigger? I am sorry I am not a old man and have been playing out since the 50's, but in the short 20 years I have been gigging for cash, I have probably logged in more than 3000 gigs and have toured across America recorded in 3 different states, including Chicago with Steve Albini. I have also been part of the northeast music conference in Tennesse. Oh and have opened for many national acts, and if you are ever in Cleveland ohio any day of the week, you can probably see me playing in town! So if there is any doubt about if I have ever played I gig? I think I have answered the question?!

SO RETROVERBIAL WHAT HAVE YOU DONE IN TOMBSTONE?

Played Johnny Ringo's, the Crystal Palace, and Big Nose Kate's (next door to the OK Corral).

Probably a couple hundred times all told since 2000 (when I resumed my musical career).

Yeah we are......

I did sixty-five dates in 2002, my personal best.

I think we're done here.

Lets recap.

1 person has actually seen and heard this amp.
There are a total of 5 u2be videos featuring this amp and three are from the guy above who immediately dismisses the quality of the video by claiming to be a triangle player.
People love the styling.
People hate the styling.
The very fact that Fender made this amp is a sign the company is in decline.
The very fact that Fender made this amp is a sign that the company is serving all niches.
It probably isn't built as well as amps from 50 years ago.
Things were built better back in the day.
Amps sometimes need repair.
This thread has caused someone to utter the words "curtis mathis" for the first time in 30 years.
The triangle player has played more gigs than the photographer and the curmudgeon combined.

I've learned nothing in 11 pages of this stuff and am just going to go buy a blackstar.

Isn't it a good idea for a company to offer an inexpensive amp that might be good for those who probably won't expose said amp to the same kind of treatment that Ned Beatty received in Deliverance? Only time will tell if any amp can withstand such a squealing treatment.

BTW, I have been to several land fills, and I've never seen any amps there, let alone piles of them.

Okay, just got back from Sam Ash and they had a couple there. Looked funky in a retro sort of way, but don't worry, I won't be buying one. The tone is nothing to write home about, the reverb is way too weird and splashy and the tone is just thin and meh no matter what I plugged into it. I put a Tele to it and it was painfully bright an LP Studio with buckers put it over the top and the vaporizer tone was just fizzy.

Sorry guys and I'm not getting into some petty pissing contest as to who gigged more. I believe Arjay has some serious street cred. Greg, I'm not buying the whole touring thing sorry. Most touring musicians I know are really serious about their gear and don't find expensive gear a waste of time unless they're playing dives. They care deeply about their sound and the performance they give. I never counted how many gigs I've done or how much recording I've done and I'm not a name dropper. All I can say is I did okay for close to twenty years and paid my bills from just playing music, and I had more fun than I probably deserved.

Time to stop beating this horse.

So that's what they mean when they say all the vintage amps at Guitar Center that don't work right must have been "abused"? :?:
