I would never put any new output tubes in my amp without properly checking the bias, unless your amp is a cathode bias amp. Even then I still check it.

It's fine that their graded and matched or whatever. Fender touted the plug n play GT's with the HRD series. Shimmy likes to argue with anyone who doesn't like GT's. I never had any luck with them and don't like them. I find them overpriced hype, just like gold pin and cryogenic tubes. That's just my opinion and it means and is worth nothing, use what works for you.

Matching is important, but I know a player who will deliberately miss match tubes to get a certain tone, speakers too, but I think it's his different speaker brands that have the most bearing on his tone. He tells me the tubes are fairly close in rating and affects his tone. I have a hard time hearing it though. Fender recommends Groove Tubes but the last time I checked, Fender owns Groove Tubes.

Yeah Lou, it sounds really tempting especially when the original HRdlx came out of the factory biased so cold.

This may (or may not) help you.
Here's Rob Hull from the Tube Depot demonstrating setting the bias on Deville, he talks about using the same procedure for a Hot Rod Deluxe a couple of comments down the page.

"The acceptable biasing range (as measured at the test point in the amp) for the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is between 70mVDC - 98mVDC. Experiment with these levels to see what works best for your playing style. The lower end of this scale will have better headroom."

Rob's a really nice guy. I had a couple of questions about the Tube Depot 5e3 clone and he usually answers you in a few hours.

Here's another biasing video fro Bob at Eurotubes. The only thing is, if you work inside your amp, don't do like Bob and wear all kings of jewelry. You could wind up dead.

+1000

In the military, if you were seen working on any electronic gear it was a near-certain Article 15. Thus, electronic maintenance was the only legitimate reason for a servicemember to remove his/her dogtags.

Thank you very much for all of your answers, you all have help me so much!!

Here we go!

I've changed the tubes.. Tung Sol 6L6GC STR, biased at 70 mV with a 12AT7 in V1: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III full of headroom *_* it breaks up at 6 more or less! (too loud!) At 4/5 it's still nice clean tone (but too loud even for live exibition) and at 3 or 3,5 it's perfect!
Thanks to You all!

Just a last question:

I removed my SH-8 Invader (too high output) and I'm using a Fender Enforcer.. but I don't really like it in hi gain.. I'm thinking to buy a DiMarzio Crunch Lab or a Seymour Duncan Custom SH-5 (NOT Custom Five!), both good cleans and good distortion for rhythm and solos!

Do you know which has less output? Crunch Lab or Custom SH-5?? And comparing 'em to Enforcer, about output? I hope someone can help me to "complete" my sound ;)
Thanks :D

Good job Andree88! 8)

Have you tried using input 2 with your higher gain pups? Input 2 is attenuated, and might work well.

Yep I've tryied it but when I turn the volume up (in live exibitions) it could break up caise is too hogh output.. So I put the Enforcer.. Lower output but I don't like very much in drive.. Invader has beautiful distortion but horrible cleans!!! Crunc Lab or Custom are better in this way.. I don't know if they are hotter than Enforcer.. :( If I will know this I will know which of the two get :)
