I have a Fender FM212R that is giving me some issues. When you plug it in a turn it on it will play a guitar through it for about 3 seconds and then it just cuts to a very loud hum and you are only able to turn it off.

Any ideas?

AFAIK... this is a 100% solid-state amp. Except for cleaning the jacks and making sure all internal connectors are clean and seating properly --- there isn't a lot you can do. Sorry, about that. Hope a good contact cleaner will work.

100% true on the comments above. Additionally, Fender is no longer supporting this amp and have no spare parts (board).

Is the amp still covered under the factory warranty? If so, Fender will take very good care of you.

No warranty, just an amp my buddy had lying around. I thought maybe I could fix it for him.

The pots are sealed, so they not only cannot be cleaned, they probably do not need it.

Try tracing the wiring to the speakers for good connect and no shorts.
