I have a Hot Rod Deluxe that will only work on the Normal channel. If you switch it to the drive channel it won't work. I know this is a common issue, does anybody know where to start?

You have to change the whole tube.

Usually, the tubes are the best place to start. It could be something else, maybe the switching supply, or even a relay, but half of V2 is added to the circuit when switching to drive.

If not the tube, I would next check that you have the +16 VDC and -16 VDC supplies at each op-amp, pins 8 and 4.

Did a bias reading and it is only coming up at 43 from the test point, when it should be up to 70. the bias wheel is cranked up to max

Check your screen grid resistors, maybe a bad output tube.
