Who here owns and uses Fender Acoustasonic amps professionally?

They are very attractive. Do they sound as good as Fender says they do?

Since nobody has offered a serious answer I'll throw in my 2 cents. I tried several Acoustasonic amps. A little 30 water, the bigger SFX model and one in between. They were pretty good. I would not say they were the best sounding amps for acoustic that I tried. I think I would put them as being better than the average acoustic amp you see out there but not at the top of the heap. Of course their prices are lower than what I would place at the top of the heap so that may be an important equalizer for many folks.

The Deam Markley UltraPro 250 is really quite good, very accurate, very true to the sound of the guitar but I found it to be just a little too hi-fi for my own taste. It gets rave reviews among finger style players. I chose the Genz Benz Shenandoah Pro LT. It can be very close to being as clinically accurate as the Markley but it also has the option of blending in a touch (or a lot) of tube warmth which I do use to some degree. The thing I like most about the Shen Pro LT is its resistance to feeding back in comparison to other amps. I don't know if they purposely tried to achieve that or if it was just a consequence of their design but I very quickly found it to be better than any others I tried when playing at higher volumes and ended up buying it because of that and the tube blend option in the pre-amp.

 It's the vocal mic channel that is most intriguing to me. In a guitar & bass duo 50/50 instrumental tunes/songs. Quick & easy to carry and set up. I've been looking at both the Acoustasonic 90 and 150. Less expensive than a Fender Passport Pro 300.

Now gimmie a buck! These things aint cheap.

To be honest, I don't understand the question, nor the answer alternatives.

It's real easy to understand if you read all the way through. The opening question is "Who here owns and uses Fender Acoustasonic amps professionally?". Modwiz & BMW-KT made fun of me as I often post humorous nonsensical polls, so I then turned it into a poll ... {waitforit} ... DANCE! But the question is serious, and if anyone would like to send me a Fender Acoustasonic 90 or 150 as a late Christmas present just pm me for my address. :)

What......is the sound of one hand clapping?

What......is your favorite color? (Posed to the Knights, pronounced ka-nig-it- of the Holy Grail)

I hope that was helpful.

I just use a Fishman Loudbox Mini. I tried the Acoustasonic series and didn't like them. Too much amp modeling that destroyed the sound of my guitar. Fishman made the electronics for my guitar so I figured I'd try one and i liked it so much I bought it. I want my guitar to sound like my guitar. I have a Martin Performining Artist OMCPA4. I might pick up a Fishman Performer or Artist if our acoustic gigs come around more often.

I tried the SFX and the Acoustasonic models too. I just didn't like either of them. I bought a Behringer ACX1800 and love it! I've had it for a few months and wouldn't part with it!
