You have one big chip on your shoulder and BTW, none of your advice on these forums hold much water.

If you hate Fender so much, may I ask you why you spend so much time on these forums?

I recently told someone here to go suck a five-pound sack of galvanized roofing nails......I'm sure he has a few left.

I've fixed more Fender amps for clients this year than you'll likely ever own, pal.

But you have a nice......whatever.

By posting your frustration and flaming comments, you're giving these forums and Fender a bad name.

Stop making it your duty to fix Fender's mistakes and then with every chance you get throwing it in their face on these forums.

I'm not frustrated, pal.

All of my Fender amps work......just as they have for the last thirty, forty, or even fifty years.

If my passing along of information that will keep others happy with their Fender gear gives you such constipation, might I suggest that you add more fresh fruit and fiber to your diet?

Way more than I can say about the current future landfill being produced. Once Bitten Twice Shy!
The sad thing is, it seems like some of the newer players are considering this the norm. Buying an amp that you need to mod right out of the box is simply ridiculous. That's all I read about is speaker and tube changes and BillM mods. Never used to be that way. People modded amps forever, but usually after you play them a while, and usually to tailor them either with hired tech or yourself if you knew how amps worked and not right out of the box, or even before the stock speaker is broken in. I can't remember pre-packaged mod kits to make everyone's amp sound better and probably the same too.
I do smell a Troll! I'm way too old to get into a pissing match over quality. If you're happy buying these new amps and thing they sound great, then buy them. Some of us have been playing Fender amp since the 60's and even the 50's and we know better.

Just for the record, it ain't just Fender producing gear like this. Everyone wants cheap gear, so this is what you get. You asked for it.

Isn't that one of the purposes for this Forum?

Exactly. Marshall is making crap amps these days like the Class 5, the Haze series (discontinued) and now a resurrected DSL 401 made in Vietnam. Even Vox is making the AC15C in China. Its one of the big reasons people are willing to spend big bucks for boutique amps these days.

All I gotta say is my 5e3 clone makes me smile every time I fire it up and it only cost me six bills and the time it took to put it together. And today my newest Christmas present to myself finally got here. It's a Fulltone MDV3 Mini Deja Vibe Uni-Vibe clone in all its throbbing glory. Wow does that thing sound sweet. I waited a few weeks for it. The serial number's something like #545. I had to open the thing up and take a look see. The workmanship is amazing!! That thing can really do the swirly Hendrix/Trower stuff. Makes you want to run out and fire up a bowl.

We will never know what changes Fender might or might not make in the production of their products with information/complaints/praises contained in this forum.

+1 It's good all around for anybody to vent out legitimate complaints of which there seems to be plenty. Those that aren't tend to be discovered. I like to believe FMIC feels the same.

Arjay, i got mine from GC for $240. I'm not sure if it was on sale or what. It shipped free. Now they're $266. I opened it up to take the old look see, That's what happens when you build stuff, and the quality of the parts and workmanship are outstanding. Tonally this thing will give you douche chills. It's amazing how well Mike nailed the original Uni-Vibe with this thing. It's full, rich, lush the whole nine yards.

I'm definitely gonna check one out!

My EVH-era A/DA flanger is nice but it doesn't really do justice to the whole "swoooshy" thing.

Arjay, it does Tremolo too. It goes from real subtle to de-tuning your chords and notes. I love this old school stuff. There is nothing digital in this pedal except for the number three in the name, and it's quiet as a mouse too. I'm becoming a real Fulltone fan. I hear Mike Fuller is a real piece of work though. But sometimes that just goes with the territory. He does make seriously professional products. I tried the Boss RT20 but you can tell it's doing its modeling thing and the Uni-Vibe type of sound is pretty lame compared to the Fulltone.

I bought the 68 Princeton custom last week and I'm returning it today. It sounds great but it has many issues. Popping and cracking sounds while playing or not playing. The vibrato is loud and fizzy. And the external speaker out doesn't work. Pretty disappointed. I was originally going to buy the deluxe reverb of the same variety but when I tried it at a local music store it too had issues. Fortunately I could identify them before I walked out of the store with the amp. Rough run of amps I'm thinking. Too bad because the sound great.
