Well................I was able to work with Musicians Friend, who was in the end the biggest help, sent me a prepaid UPS tag, sent the amp back and they've refunded my entire purchase price. Sad to say, this has detoured me from any new production Fender amp. I'm sure there are many satisfied customers, but I will resort back to my own builds.

Merry Christmas to all!!

That's exactly what I started doing. I'll never but a current production amp from anyone. Fender's HRDlx did that to me. I was a customer since 1966. Now I'm my own best customer. I build most of my own effects too.

I admit the custom silverface peaked my interest, but after reading these threads, my gas is gone. My next purchase is gonna be a nice deluxe tweed kit . Like Supro says I will be my "own best customer".

PFFFFFFFFT!

What planet are you living on?

If your assertion had any credibility at all, this thread wouldn't even exist!

Arjay,
I think you may have just been 'trolled'
My suspicions are why I didn't respond to such a nonsensical comment.

I hear ya Supro. I have auditioned alot of amps . The best of the bunch was a 59 Bassman RI , but to be honest , I dont play anywhere where I need that kind of power , and at over 50 lbs its a hernia waiting for a place to happen. I need something that I can grab n go . Take it to jams and still be loud enough for the occasional bar gigs. I have had my eye on a tweed deluxe for years , but cant see spending 2k or better on a reissue or a boutique clone. And a real vintage one? Forget about it.

Thanks......you might be right, sir.

Nevertheless, neither my observation nor my statement will waver.

As long as people are willing to pay more for quality, they'll get a better amp.

Until then, we get the Hot Rod Series, and now unfortunately the Silverface reissue Series.

In manufacturing anything, quality does cost money. They could have made just as much doing a cosmetic change to the existing Princeton Reverbs without having to change the circuits vs. making an amp that may or may not have a market.

What's next - Red Knob Twin Reverb Reissues?

You have one big chip on your shoulder and BTW, none of your advice on these forums hold much water.

If you hate Fender so much, may I ask you why you spend so much time on these forums?

I wasn't trolling anyone, if you'll notice in my post I never mentioned anyone's name, all I was doing was stating my opinion.

It's near impossible to state with any certainty, that every complaint, even on the entire internet, represents any significant percentage of the total customer experience. Consider selective small polls, in which the pollsters deduce that "X percentage of Americans" are for or against something, based on a comparatively very small sampling, usually within a small geographical area.

I recently told someone here to go suck a five-pound sack of galvanized roofing nails......I'm sure he has a few left.

I've fixed more Fender amps for clients this year than you'll likely ever own, pal.

But you have a nice......whatever.

Very True! I'd love to see some of the actual warranty statistics of Fender and their competition. But that'll never happen. Top Secret Stuff! :) :? :(
