That LP Jr with a single bridge P-90 made all the right sounds in his hands too.

His Mountain years are his legacy, even though he can still play as well as ever.

+1000

What happened to JACOFF?

Did Walgreen's run out of Ritalin again?

I know that they have been mentioned here, just wondering if anyone has experience with any Blackstar amps? ...
Hi shimmilou. I was thinking of asking the same question then I came across your post.

I've tried the HT Club 40 and the HT Studio 20 and think that both are very decent amps. Not that I'm looking to replace my HRD but sometimes it's nice to look at the grass growing on the other side.

    Cheers!

I liked Leslie's tone best during this era......

I don't know what he was using in the studio but his live performances with Sunn and Marshall gear were legendary.

Arjay

Leslie West legendary tone came from a Les Paul Jr with P90's and he played through a Sunn PA head & cabinets instead of a normal guitar amp.

He also used a Flying V on many of the hallmark Mountain songs.

These photos were taken on 14 May 1974 at the Sacramento Municipal Auditorium......

I was seated in the front row, three seats over from the photographer. The tickets were a birthday gift from my brother. Leslie was playing through three Marshall Super Lead Plexi heads wired to four Sunn 2 x 15 cabs. Felix used his customary Sunn line-up of four 200S heads and four 200S cabs. West used the V for "Mississippi Queen" and a few other tunes. He showcased the white Les Paul Jr on "Theme From An Imaginary Western" and "Nantucket Sleighride". The SG Jr was configured for slide which he brought out for "Crossroader" and a couple of other songs (some from the then recently-released West, Bruce & Laing album).

What a great show it was!

Ah, same position as the LPJr. He had a special relationship with P-90's.

Photobucket, or something like it, seems to be needed to post pictures. Photobucket makes it very painless.

Looking forward to that pic. :D

+1

Photobucket, Image Shack, and Flickr are all free remote-hosting sites.

I have '57 Les Paul Jr and that thing can get downright nasty through my '64 Vibroverb.
