I have the Club 40. The speaker has been replaced with a Scumback and I have a 5751 in V-2.
The Club 40 does have a few more bells and whistles than I'm used to, but it was easy to find the tone I like.
I have had no issues with it to this point. However I have not gigged it and the volume never goes above about 4 or 5.
The amp favors humbuckers over single coils and solidbody over hollowbody.

I did join the Blackstar Forum and found some useful info. I have not been back there in about 8 months.

Thanks CAFeathers! I always enjoy seeing that BJr. :D

The Club 40 appears to be very similar to the Studio 20. Same tube lineup, with the 40 adding the voicing switches, standby switch, and twice the power. Looks like B* has covered all of the bases, everything from small hybrids, to modeling amps, to all tube amps. From what I have seen and heard, they have done a great job, and relatively few problems with their amps. I am thinking of picking up the HT-5 combo as well.

Hope to see you on the B* forum also. 8)

My pleasure. If you ever get out to the left coast you are welcome to come check it out in person!! Bring a guitar, unless you can play a lefty.

I have played quite a few of the different models of them and like them all. I just don't have room for them.

I know what you mean about the lack of room. I have had to move to a bigger room, then clean out a closet for more acquired gear, now I even need another closet. I'm thinking that I have an unhealthy obsession.....but I'm enjoying the sh*t out of it.

It's been 40 years since I've been out your way, but dream of getting an RV when I retire and just traveling the country, so you never know. Thanks for the invite. :D

I played a 20 watt HT at GC and, it sounded real good. I picked this one up over a year ago. It is a plain Jane HT-1. It rocks and sounds huge when I play it through a 12" cabinet.

Leslie West said he used a Blackstar, to record his last album,or cd whatever they are called these days. Heard some clips. Sounded good. He endorses them now.

Ladies and Gents on this fine forum. For being a Korean made product I feel these are very decent. This is from a guy who owns American and English amps. I read somewhere they posted saying everything guitar amplified is either a Fender or a Marshall! We all know the story of the grand JTM45 how the circuit is based off a 58 Bassman. I don't post much on this forum because there are some fools here who act like they own this place. I spend more time playing than I do trying to compete with these idiots. It is a shame because there are some cool people on this forum as well. These suckers should get a life, instead of trying to prove their bull dropping all knowingness. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all. Seasons greetings to my non-Christian follow posters.

Leslie West could get his tone out of a practice bass amp. He was with Budda amps a short while ago. Staring with my opening comment, Leslie is probably getting his amps supplied to him while he endorses them. All said, his reputation would probably prevent him from endorsing anything shoddy. If he has gotten you interested in buying a blackstar amp, he is fulfilling his role for the company.

Leslie West has a unique, singing, wailing and whistling tone. It cannot be commoditized. I can be useful in selling amps. :D

I'd be happy owning a blackstar amp. Someone has to keep fender on their toes.

I liked Leslie's tone best during this era......

I don't know what he was using in the studio but his live performances with Sunn and Marshall gear were legendary.

That LP Jr with a single bridge P-90 made all the right sounds in his hands too.

His Mountain years are his legacy, even though he can still play as well as ever.
