Hi guys

I'm searching an amp that has a nice clean sound with much headroom that isn't to pricey and I was wondering if the Champion 100 would fit.

grtz

Is there a possibility to use the 2nd channel without any of the effects? Because I want to have a clean channel( without any of the effect) in which I can adjust the mid.

Yes, the effects on either channel can be turned off.

Absolutely, that is one of the beauties of the Champion 100: Both channels can punch in and out the effects using the footswitch. It works greats. For $300 the Champion 100 is very hard to beat.

How does the reverb sound? I think that I've read it is a digital reverb. Does it have the same quality of a spring reverb?

Well, depends on what you compare the Champion's reverb to. It actually sounded better than the short tank reverb in my Frontman 212R, but it does not sound as good as a classic, long-tank reverb such as what I had on my Blues Deluxe.

It is pretty good, but, you can dial in a better digital reverb on the Mustang V2's: there are several reverb models to choose from on the Mustang. The Mustang comes very close to the classic long-tank. Not exact, but very close.

The Champion has several reverb models you can select as well, but you cannot set the parameters as you can on a Mustang.

A mustang III V2 looks quite well to me. Maybe I should try that one too. Is a mustang a good amp for jazz?

Yes! If you get a Mustang, try downloading my Tal Farlow preset.

The Fender Champion is a great amp, does it sound as great as my Princeton Reverb? NO, but it is solid and dependable and you don't have to worry about it getting banged up.

"Dependable"?

The Champion line has been out less than a year -- it's hardly appropriate to make that pronouncement at this time. Report back in five years, when there's some quantifiable data accumulated.

Bought mine in 2003. So I've got 10 years of reliable data.

Your Champion is not the same as the new Champion line.

I'd agree regarding yours though -- they are reliable and dependable units (one of the original "Dyna-Touch" series).
