I know these amps were modeled after Fenders to begin with so I thought I'd put the question out there.

What's the best amp for a sound in this ball park?

Was looking at the Ceriatones but perhaps the Fenders are a little more affordable.

Those amps may have been modeled after a Fender amp but they have been so modified as to bear no resemblance to any Fender amp. You want the Dumble/Two-Rock sound? Buy a Dumble or a Two-Rock. If money is tight, buy the Ceriatone.

I've heard of guys modding their Fender amps to get Dumble-like flexibility. I wouldn't do this to an nice AB763 --- but, most late 1970-80's SF Fenders have similar input stage setups as the vintage AB763.

Hi
I have a Ceriatone overtone HRM. Its a great sounding amp. I ordered the chassis from ceriatone and got a head cab from sourmash cabs. Then I found a speaker cab on craigslist, & loaded it with weber 1265 alnico speakers. Best amp I've ever owned. The cleans are sweet, and the distortion is HOT... Channel switching amp. My strat has SRV tones and Trowers tones, no need for a distortion pedal....
I love it.

Talk about two different worlds. Now understand I think Stevie Ray is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Trowers was an innovator and someone I listened to frequently. I understand, however, that Jimmie Vaughn would insult the then teenage SRV by saying to him that "you sound like f****** Robin Trowers"

I'm just saying, my amp is versitilewith alot of tone. There are many versions of the ceriatone overtone special amps, with out buying a 2 rock or a dumble, and cheaper.
Mine is the HRM version (hot rod marshall version.) It has 2 gains on the front panel and one on the back. Channel switching too. Plus a dumble is a $25000.00 to $35000.00 amp.
Also Robben Ford, Carlos Santana, Joe Bonamassa and even Stevie Ray Vaughn( steel string singer model) used them. Check out ceriatone overtone special models on YouTube.
You might want a new amp?

Not sure exactly what tone your going for, but I use Dumble pedals (a Barber Small Fry or a Sonic Fusion OD) through several Fenders and get great tones (I'm a Robben Ford wannabe at times). I'm using a modded Blues Jr., a modded DRRI, a stock Hot Rod Dlxe (clean channel), and just picked up a Twin Reverb. They all sound great to me with the right eq.
I've been wanting to add a Ceriatone Overtone Special, but...I'm pretty happy with what I've got.

Fuchs and Brown Note made some really nice amps in the "D" style.
