Hi All,

I've tried doing some research before posting this, and couldn't find any solutions for it. My Fender Princeton Chorus Solid-State recently started buzzing. At first, it would buzz a little, and then go away. Now it is permanently like this, to the point of where the guitar doesn't make any noise out of the amp. I've tried 3 different guitars through it, and received the same result. I used a new cable as well, and still have the same problem.

Does anyone have any ideas, as this is not a tube amp?

Here is a video of my problem. Keep in mind, this is even before it got the point of where now no guitar noise comes out of the amp.

I appreciate your suggestions in advance! Thank you.

Speaker ? Or solid state component inside the amp ?

Try another speaker. If not the speaker you must see a qualified tech . Nothing you can do in this electronics amps if you don't know electronics.

Thanks for the suggestion. There are 2X12's in there, and neither seems to be producing noise now, whereas when it first started buzzing there was some noise at least. I can definitely check that out though. Do you know how much a repair would cost for something like this? Would it be best for me just to get a new amp? I was thinking about a used Hot Rod Blues Jr if the repair ends up being too much.

Possibly. The Princeton Chorus was discontinued about 10 years ago and many of its parts are no longer available.

you could probably find another Princeton Chorus for the cost to repair that one.

Here's one for $100.

With the proviso that there's no guarantee that you won't end up with two unrepairable amps down the road.

Best to find a newer and more logistically-supportable platform.
