Hi: My amp is a "Princeton Recording Amp" equipped with XLR out, effects loop and headphone jack.
I use the headphones a lot (early morning hours) with the attenuator turned off ( speaker quiet).

My question is how could I introduce another signal source; CD, iPad, or drum machine into the headphone signal.

Would it be best to use the XLR out (it has a line level) to a mixer and then take the headphone out of the mixer or just take the headphone signal and go to the mixer?

I am not looking for anything too elaborate, just looking to add some backing tracks into the headphones.

I see ARTPro Audio sells a SPLITMix4 - four channel passive splitter/mixer for under $100.00 but has only 1/4" jacks, no XLR.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
