If the amp functions as it should without the foot switch and you are certain the foot switch is good then it has to be somewhere between the foot switch jack and the circuits affected by the switch. I would imagine the first place to look would be the solder connections at the jack inside the amp however you've said before that you have no equipment and lack the ability to use it even if you did have it so I say again, take it to a tech and have it looked at by someone who knows what they're doing. Keep in mind the cautions and warnings the more seasoned amp gurus around here continually post about the dangers present inside an amp and heed those cautions.
