I built my own digital reverb and I'll tell you what, I'm looking at the Fender Reverb Clone that Weber sells. My digital reverb pedal is a little too over the top and lacks any serious depth. I use a little slapback echo instead.

No digital stomp box can match the subtleties of a good tube driven, spring reverb unit. The 6G15 Fender units are the best (IMHO). Haven't heard the Weber DIY kit. The 6K6GT tube of the 6G15 seems a perfect fit.

In a lot of ways, I don't even miss the reverb at all. None of my current amps have it. My 5e3 Clone cabinet is pine as well as the baffle. It's a very resonant and lively sounding box.

In your previous post on the other thread, it seemed that they were indeed loose and you pushed them back into position. Did I misunderstand you? Maybe I didn't explain clearly, but the beads should be affixed to the post that runs through the middle of the beads, they should neither rotate on their own, nor move end to end on their own, but move as part of that "shaft" assembly. If the beads were to rotate on their own, they would just spin on the "shaft" and not transfer that motion to the springs as effectively.

Ya know, for someone who previously said all was cool after I apologized and then to say something like this and to call us "GURUS" makes me think you still are not over the reverb discussion and feel it necessary to dig in and make your point all over again. Well, rest assured that I am all over with both this discussion and you. Have a nice life.

Sorry Shimmi, but my origional post is getting so diluted every time we pick on a certain aspect of it that everyone starts to forget all the details. In my origional post (that discussed my Accutronics Reverb Tank) I stated I used pliers to rotate the copper slug as it was too tight to do by hand. Thus they do not rotate on thier own as the spring tension is strong enough to keep it in a fixed position. By using pliers I was able to rotate the Copper Slug which incedentaly rotated the beads to a fixed position where they were centralized between the transducer laminations. They are not supposed to rotate freely on their own.

When the beads are in operation, the energized transducer will twist the beads in a rotational manner in only fractional degrees to induce a signal. The tension wire has enough give to allow this.
