Hi there, I have just started using a Blackstar valve pedal in my chain and I noticed the other day that when I'm on the clean channel of the amp the master volume no longer does anything and the 'volume' dial becomes the master WTH?!?! If I swith to the drive channel all is back to normal though?!?!? Has anyone ever seen/heard this before as it's becoming really annoying not being able to get a nice clean sound at a usable volume.....hope someone can help!!!

Hi oysterboy60,

That is the way it is supposed to work. The Master and Drive pots are only for the drive channels, the volume only for the clean.

I don't use pedals myself, but I found out while exploring my amp a bit one evening while practicing,...that your Master Volume and Drive control only operates when you are in any one of the 'drive" channels, and the volume only for "clean" or "normal" channel. Your
amp isn't broke,so don't worry! Just reiterating what shimmilou is telling you. I have the newest version of the HRD,...the HRD III,and I love the thing,...especially the "clean" channel.

Apparently not! :!: In fact,I am still trying to digest all the information in the owner guide for my Yaesu FT-950 HF communications radio,...and I haven't even scratched the surface with everything that radio can do,...and it's far more complex than my guitar amp,...FAR more :). I pretty much just use the basic features on it for now!

Think a Yaesu is complicated? Try an old school Hallicrafter. :D  :D

I have JRC stuff. Owner manual? What is that?

A-ha, that makes sense, thanks shimmilou/KC9SYJ - I've only had it a couple of weeks and got it used with no manual so thought there might be a problem....I'll have to spend a little time with it, I'm sure I can find a way around it. Awesome sounding amp overall though! :D
