Hi

I took delivery of a second hand Excelsior bought of Ebay. By the looks of it it got damaged in transit as I did see pictures of the unit before purchase. The seller has beem notified and is in process of finding out what can be done. The seller does not allow returns but stated that he is working to see if he can claim from the courier. I guess we will see what happens to that.

In the meantime whilst this is ongoing, I was wondering if some of you clued up enough could tell from the pictures how bad the damage is. I haven't plugged it in, as I need a power down transformer I believe to be able to use it here in Ireland as I bought it from the US.

So you should be able to see that the top screw that should hold the base unit in place is missing and that it lifted up on the left hand side pulling away from the bottom. The wiring looks intact, but I cannot be 100% on the right where the tubes are.

Does this look like I can gently push it down and screw it back, or is this a writeoff?

Thanks in advance,
G

If it were me I would probably keep it if it powered up, but that's me.
I took mine all apart to dampen the rattles the first day I got it. I never met a warranty o I was afraid to void :)

I think you can easily push it back down and re-fasten it, and it should be good to go, from the pictures nothing looks damaged, the tubes were protected and are not mis-aligned, cables and tranny seem fine.

I would try to push chassis back in place, but would first loosen the remaining screws to re-align chassis.
