So what's the scoop on these amps? They say hand wired tube sockets, but is the whole amp really hand wired? Or is the rest of it (besides the tube sockets) PCB like the '65 series amps?

I'm excited to hear about a reissue of a cool era. However, I'm also hesitant to believe that Fender will make a reissue exactly like they made "in the old days," other than in the CS.

Hard to see them here in Fender Amps , we must look at Vintage Modified.

First it seems to me it is only the look, cosmetic reissue, not electronic ,

Second , if fender said only "wired tube socket " this mean all of electronics is printed circuit IMO

And third , at these prices it can't be an all hand wired.

It would be good if they can repeat the quality from '65 - '67 regardless of price.

I've seen recently B/F V/R gone for $4,500, DeLuxe R $3,500, Pro R $2,500 .. so there are still peps out there willing to pay top $$ for the quality.

They are not "reissues", Fender doesn't call them that either, they are the VM (Vintage Modified) series.

I could never bond with the "Vintage Molested Series" at all. They are far and away from the real deal. The Bandmaster VM was a real disappointment.

Before I did that I'd go with a Victoria or other boutique amp or build it myself. Preferably the latter.

Victoria is building the best Fender ams out there and they have a lifetime warranty.

I believe Fender deep-sixed the original "Vagrant Miscreant" series (Bandmaster and Deluxe Reverb). They're no longer listed on the corporate website.

Seems to be the 'luck of the draw' with OEM speakers. I've heard some that sounded pretty tasty after the requisite break-in period while others still squealed like an anally-impaled javelina even after 70 or 80 hours of use.

yep judging by fender's own marketing words it is designed to be a tube option for a practice amp that breaks up at lower volumes on purpose.....to allow one to get gainier tones at lower volume..... right?

In other words, I predict that when they've been out a while folks will say they can't cut through the mix in a real band live setting....similar to complaints some say about mustang even though they can get loud....because they are made to let one experience good tone at lower volumes.

it seems to me that fender's own marketing materials say this if one reads between the lines....
