Where did you get that?

I got it from here:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=69283...

I think that the manual is a much better source of information, I would stick with that, as people do all sorts of stupid things. There are no "user presets" for the bias, only one setting that the amp remembers....again, check the manual.

Uhmm Shimmi - read the manual, there is user adjustable BIAS "presets" , the user is able to adjust the bias hotter or colder in 9 increments of bias using the digital "up" or "down" keys, and the amp will remember that setting and stay there, even after mains power down/up.

I think you are suggesting that the user is unable to modify those preset points, which is correct, however I am saying that is still a user selectable preset which allows you to adjust the bias away from factory default.

Thus holding in both up/down keys resets bias back to factory setting.

This is what's written in the manual, BUT if you press both keys and hold them while powering up the amp, something weird is going to happen... the LEDs start to blink, red, orange and then red again. I don't know why I was stupid enough to do that, but that "trick" should supposedly cause a reset...

I wonder why there is no word about that in the manual, if it's really a function on purpose.
Whats the difference between the "regular" bias reset and that strange function, that causes the LEDs to blink and change colors?

There is a difference between reading and comprehending. There is only one setting (preset) for the bias that the amp remembers. You can choose from all of the possible bias settings, and the amp remembers that one setting that was chosen last. In the other thread, the suggestion was that this stupid "trick" would erase all user presets, which is not true, as all possible setting are still the same, nothing is "reset" other than the one setting that was used last, resets to automatic.

And, the manual says nothing about powering the amp off, holding the buttons in and powering the amp on. It does say to hold the buttons in for one second to reset the amp back to factory automatic bias settings......this is with the amp already on

With the amp on, after holding the buttons in for one second, power the amp off, then watch the lights as you power up (without holding any buttons) and see what happens. :o

That is the automatic bias, going through it's checks.

My appologies Shimmi, I was on a different wave length when I was thinking about your term "User Presets". You were correct in your statements.

I am wondering if the act of holding those 2 buttons on power up doesn't put the Bias Microprossesor into programming mode intended for service upgrades like firmware? Sir_Danish are you able to get the amp out of that mode? Does the amp go back to normal on re-boot?

Only if I turn the amp off and then power it up again. Otherwise the LEDs would glow red forever. I think you are right about that programming mode thing.
