Too bad you turned off private messaging so I can't respond personally to you. Guess I'll just have to do it in public.

Oh, heck. This should be enough of a response.

Somehow I doubt they are actual re-issues. The channels are titled Custom and Vintage rather than Normal and Vibrato. Seems to me if they were re-issues they would use the period correct labels just like the BF re-issues do. The fact that they don't is a caution flag for me.

Yes, they are in fact VM amps. And both channels have reverb and vibrato so they couldn't be called Normal and Vibrato I suppose. This becomes visible once you scroll right down the ebay advert (whose title refers to a Reissue, misleadingly) to the specs, which to me do look like they're written in bona fide Fender-speak.

Wonder why Fender did that? Instead of just putting the silverface front panel onto the DRRI. Hmm....

Perhaps because someone in R&D is finally listening to customers......?

Reverb and trem available on both channels. Reduced NFB voltage for earlier breakup. Bassman-styled tone stack in the "CUSTOM" (nee "NORMAL") channel. Better speakers.

Ask and ye shall receive.

I had the same thought. These specs tick a lot of boxes for a lot of DRRI owners I should think.

I'm hopeful that a similarly-configured Super Reverb re-issue will ultimately emerge, but thus far I've seen no confirmation from Fender.com that any of these amps actually exist......yet.

Promising looks & specs; I like the direction. QC will always be a lingering question. A 70's SF Princeton wouldn't cost a whole lot more, but I overall I hope the new release brings happiness to a lot of people.
