Back around 2000-2001 I came across a small Fender tube amp with controls on the front face and a jewel pilot light. This particular one was tweed, but I don't know if the series was all tweed or not. I loved that amp and am now looking to buy another, but I can't find anything matching my memory. I want to say it had chicken head knobs, but that's a little less clear. At the time I was told that it was often used as a studio amp but that it had issues getting too hot for gig use. Does this sound familiar to anyone? The Pro Junior is the closest thing I've found, but it does not look quite like what I remember. Thanks in advance.

The Blues Deville was in production then as I recall. Tweed, 40w (based on the old Bassman), chicken head knobs. Single speaker 12" (I think; as I recall the Blue Deluxe at the time was 4x10"). I had one purchased new in the early/mid 90's. Nice amp; wish I had kept it. It was smaller physically that my Frontman 212R, but I believe heavier and not all that small.

Fender Bronco maybe? Earlier versions were tube.

Bill has his names backwards. The Deville was 60 watts and came with 4 tens or 2 twelves. The Deluxe was the 40 watter with a single twelve.

To the best of my knowledge the Deville had no heating issues. Also, the controls were on the top. The OP says the controls were on the front. There were no Fender amps in 2000 or 2001 (or 1999) that were tweed with controls on the front. I don't know if I've ever seen a tweed with front controls. Tweeds have controls on the top. In those years there were some very nice blonde amps with front controls but they were pricey. Custom Shop VibroKing, Dual Professional and Tone Master. Perhaps they were blonde rather than tweed?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
