1st off, the reverb produces a high "ringing" noise when set @ extreme settings (6-7 or above)-I erroneously posted my problem on the "vintage/B4 1985" forum & U can read all of the kind responses I received there; my "Reissue," of course, is BRAND NEW--1 other concern, when I turn off the standby switch PRIOR to turning off the power switch (even w/volume & all other knobs turned to "0"), the amp produces a loud "pop." This concerns me, is this normal? I seem to remember a previous post also regarding this......thx, all

Way too many times. Probably tubes and are warranted for 90 days. I would just bring it back, get another one and test it before you bring it home. It's hard for me to accept the fact that these things ship with such low end tubes.

It would be interesting if someone with a lot of money to burn, would ship a few amps with vintage tubes across country using UPS and see how well they survive the brutality......on a consistent basis of course.

I had to place all my tubes within the first couple of months. Otherwise, superb amp. Love the clean tones and how it takes pedals. There's a reason why most great pedal demos are made on a DRRI!

I've found that the DRRI can have some issues with the 12AT7 reverb driver. It's pretty hard on this tube. And often, premature noise and microphonics is the result.

You need a good tube. Try the mil spec Sylvania 12AT7WA (or WC). The triple mica are tougher than the dual mica. Both are spec'ed for high constant current use (what you need to drive the reverb tank). And long quiet use.

IME, only the much more $$$ European Philips based (Miniwatt, Valvo, Siemens) E81CC is a better tube.

+1

This tube is also an excellent choice as a phase inverter (V6 position) -- vintage or re-issue.

You could also try swap out the reverb tank, as I have had the experience of reverb feedback squeal due to poor assembly from accutronics. If you search the forums you will find the thread where I opened the ReverbTank to solve the issue.
